Ask The Questions

Why did i decide to start writing blog posts? Simply, i’ve always been the kind of nail tech who asks why. Why does this prep work here but not there? Why does one client’s set last four weeks while another lifts in days? How can two people follow the same steps and get completely different results? Those questions don’t mean you’re doing anything wrong, they just mean you’re learning.

As nail techs, we’re often taught what to do before we’re taught how nails actually work. That’s not a failing of the industry, it’s just the reality of learning a hands-on skill. Once you’re working on real clients, questions will naturally start popping up that don’t always have easy answers. This blog is my way of creating a space where those questions are welcomed, explored, and explained.

I love education, but I also know not everyone learns best from videos and rigid step-by-step rules might not always cover the situation we find ourselves in. Writing gives me the room to slow things down and talk things through properly. To explain the reasoning behind techniques, products, and decisions in a way that supports understanding rather than creating more questions. You don’t need to remember everything, this space allows you the freedom to come back and refresh your knowledge as many times as you need without time constraints.

This blog is for nail techs at every stage of their career, from beginners learning on their first course right to experienced professionals who want to feel more confident in their choices in this ever changing industry. It’s not about being perfect, or doing things in one particular “correct” way. It’s about building understanding over time, asking better questions, and feeling supported while you do. If something here helps you connect the dots and have that “A-ha!” moment, then we’re winning!
